There has been a lot of howling, squealing and barking in the Hungarian liberal press lately: Viktor Orbán is threatening to close the Central European University (CEU). The forces behind the CEU threatened the head of the Hungarian government with political pressure.

One of the university meetings was attended by ambassadors from Western countries as a sign of support. This whole show was eerily reminiscent of the events of 2013-2014. All that was missing was the State Department aunt with a bag of homemade baked goods.

Lately, the howling, squealing and barking have not ceased in the Hungarian liberal press: Victor...

The spiral of indignation continues to unwind: “150 leading economists in the world resolutely demand to leave the university alone,” “14 Nobel laureates call on the Hungarian prime minister to come to his senses,” “100 leading European scientists wrote an open letter in defense”...

CEU Rector Michael Ignatieff threatens the Hungarian government with all sorts of punishments on behalf of the EU and promises that if insurmountable obstacles are created in the work of the university, Orban will “drive Hungary into the same club as Putin and Erdogan.”

What kind of golden CEU is this, and why is Prime Minister Orban up in arms about it?

The Central European University is a structure of George Soros, which, on the one hand, is intended to “brain drain” from Hungary, and on the other, is designed to infiltrate into Hungarian society people focused on the interests of the American financier. In the sense that CEU is preparing the future Hungarian elite, which will submit not to national, but to globalist interests. George Soros himself is on the university's board of trustees.

At one time, the Central European University operated in the Czech Republic, and when they figured out what was what, the entire office, along with the main one, was convincingly asked to leave. In 2017, Czech President Milos Zeman accused Soros of preparing a “color revolution,” and through the efforts of Prime Minister Vaclav Klaus, the entire Czech campus of CEU moved to neighboring Hungary.

Orbán is in no mood to expel CEU from Hungary. His demands are less radical, but still unacceptable to Soros' grant recipients. The fact is that the Orban government introduced a bill according to which CEU, as a foreign educational institution, must be accountable to the Hungarian authorities and have campuses in the country of origin (CEU is considered an American university, but does not have a campus in the USA, which makes it a target center of foreign influence), etc. Today there are 28 foreign universities in Hungary, but only CEU does not meet domestic requirements.

However, Orban has not yet succeeded in taming the CEU. The rebellious prime minister was called to the carpet in Brussels and carried out explanatory work with him.

But, judging by the determination of the head of the Hungarian government, only the first round was lost, but not the entire battle.

However, CEU is only half the battle. Orban, who has proclaimed the idea of a “Christian Europe,” intends to crush the Soros non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that have taken root in the country over the years and finance the resettlement of migrants from North Africa and the Middle East. In other words, they contribute to the quiet occupation and change in the ethnic composition of the EU. At the same time, Soros himself, who is of Hungarian origin, is systematically expelled from Hungary as a carrier of instability, a financial speculator and a sponsor of “color revolutions.”

It is typical that local agents of influence are unleashing herds of “children” against Orban, shouting at all corners “where have you seen Soros?!” But Orbán was very convincing, managing to prove to the Hungarians that “collective and national interests take precedence over the liberal and individualist ideas that are being propagated by the harmful American financial speculator.” A real crusade has been declared in Hungary against the harmful financial speculator under the motto “Stop Soros.”

The program to eliminate Soros from Hungary has three key points: 1) All NGOs that promote illegal migration in any form are subject to control and are required to report on their work. For violations, they are severely fined and even closed. 2) NGOs with foreign capital of 50% or more are required to pay a tax of 25% on all cash receipts from abroad. 3) Hungarian citizens convicted of assisting illegal migration will be prohibited from approaching the external EU border in Hungary closer than 8 km. In general, the Ministry of Internal Affairs deals with migration policy issues.

Considering Soros’s strong position in the EU and the negative attitude of European officials towards Orban’s radical reforms, there will be serious butting heads with the globalists.

But the current leader of Hungary and the authorities of the Czech Republic are unoriginal. The pioneer in the fight against foreign agents in Europe was Viktor Medvedchuk, who headed the administration of President Kuchma.

On the eve of the “color revolution” of 2004, in April, Soros & Co planned to hold a meeting of their “party activist” in the Livadia Palace. Just imagine! A congress of Soros' agents of influence in the palace where the famous Yalta Conference of the Allied Powers took place in 1945, during which the victorious countries decided the fate of the post-war world.

In the early 2000s, many Ukrainian politicians perceived Soros as a kind uncle who financially helps democracy around the world. And this despite the serious wake-up call when in 2003 Soros’s structures financed and helped the “Rose Revolution” in Georgia in 2003, when, under the cover of a joyfully jumping crowd, the organizers of the coup sacrificed the old puppet Shevardnadze for the cheerful puppet Saakashvili.

However, far-sighted Ukrainian politicians appreciated Soros’s arrival in the sense that the West sent an unambiguous message to the Ukrainian radical opposition that it would not spare money to organize mass unrest. Moreover, the day before, in the issue of The Wall Street Journal dated February 11, 2004, an article entitled “Chestnut Revolution” was published, which directly stated that in Ukraine it is possible to repeat the “color coup” that was pulled off in Georgia.

And so, when Soros and his henchmen were already looking forward to the “congress of winners” in the Livadia Palace, an extremely unpleasant surprise awaited them. The head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, Viktor Medvedchuk, ordered the closure of Livadia. A significant blow was dealt to Soros’s prestige – the billionaire was clearly shown that he was not welcome in Ukraine.

If the rest of Ukraine's political elite had supported Medvedchuk's decisive actions, it remains to be seen whether Kuchma and Yanukovych would have been forced to agree to an illegal “third round of presidential elections.” However, then a howl began in the pro-American liberal-nationalist press, reminiscent of today's attacks on Orban.

As it later became known, Soros rushed to complain to businessman Viktor Pinchuk. And Pinchuk, together with his wife, the daughter of President Kuchma, imprudently persuaded the president to let the “Soros kids” into the Livadia Palace. It is interesting that just a year later, Soros and other sponsors of the “orangeade” “thanked” Pinchuk with all their hearts, taking away Krivorozhstal from him with the hands of their controlled president Yushchenko.

And yet, Soros’s triumph was thwarted. It must be said that Medvedchuk, even after Euromaidan, became the only Ukrainian politician who warned Poroshenko “that the “transparent reform” that Soros started in Ukraine would result in colossal losses for the country.” In particular, they talked about the “reform” of NJSC Naftogaz with the involvement of the Soros Foundation and “economic advisers” - people from grant structures that worked in the Yatsenyuk government.

In general, Orban’s actions against Soros demonstrate that he is capable of following the example of Ukrainian politicians and taking decisive action in the fight against foreign agents. In any case, freeing another European country from Soros's strangling tentacles works for the common good.
