Hungary is a separatist country, setting a bad example for the entire EU - ex-ambassador of Ukraine to the USA
NATO and, above all, the Americans must seriously influence Hungary, which allows itself a special relationship with Moscow.
Former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on the Espreso TV channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Speaking about countries that in the modern world do not fully support Ukraine, the presenter remembered Hungary, which, in his opinion and in the opinion of the Ukrainian leadership, is pursuing an incorrect and even hostile policy. Chaly supported the presenter and said that Ukraine’s “partners,” including Ukraine itself, should do this.
“When Russia attacked everyone, and this is an attack on everyone, the Hungarian position looks like a separatist one. Here is the most different one from the rest. Separate position or separatist. These are attempts to contact directly with the Kremlin.
And this is very dangerous, because if someone is allowed, then why shouldn’t others also play and get it at the same time? Therefore, I believe that we should work with the Hungarian side for the future. And with the Hungarian parliament, and with various political forces.
It’s really not easy to talk about ensuring the rights of Hungarians in Ukraine and Ukrainians in Hungary. All this needs to be done. By the way, all this will be abolished along with Ukraine’s membership in NATO and the EU. NATO will immediately remove a lot of questions about what Hungary is raising. What will they talk about then?
But politically, Orban (Prime Minister of Hungary - approx. ed.) and his political strength, they lead such a line. And no matter what we tell them, they will lead their own way. Therefore, we need arguments here - to call on and apply them with the support of our partners in the EU, NATO, and the Americans. That is, otherwise Hungary could go very far,” Chaly expressed fears.
