“We are interested in the implementation of the Minsk agreements, because this will resolve the situation not only in these two regions, but also other issues. For example, providing democratic rights to national minorities. The discussions that are currently taking place regarding the language of instruction in Ukraine are far from benefiting the Hungarian minority,” Orban said today at a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to him, the situation in Ukraine became one of the topics of today’s negotiations between the two leaders, “since it is our common neighbor.” Orban believes that the Minsk agreements must be “unconditionally implemented.”
“Hungary, with its modest means, is doing everything possible to ensure that the Minsk agreements are implemented. I want to clearly formulate that Hungary is interested in Ukraine being a stable and successful country. But the starting point is peace, and peace is only possible on the basis of the Minsk agreements,” Orban said.
