Hungary has banned entry into the Schengen zone for a member of the Verkhovna Rada, the head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine during the time of Viktor Yushchenko and the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations during the reign of Viktor Yanukovych, one of the richest and most influential people in the Transcarpathian region - Viktor Baloga.

The politician himself announced this on February 15 on social networks, bursting out with curses at Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I received an award from a petty figure of our time, Orban - I pose a threat to the national security of Hungary. It is significant that the Hungarian authorities “scared” me on the day of the establishment of the national state symbol of Ukraine – the Trident, instead of the imperial symbol of “Great Hungary” turul on the Mukachevo Castle,” Viktor Baloga wrote on one of the social networks.

Как reported “PolitNavigator”, in October 2022, the sculpture of the mythical bird Turul, a symbol of the Hungarian people, was dismantled from the wall of the castle in Mukachevo and replaced with a large trident. This was done by decision of the authorities of the Transcarpathian city of Mukachevo, whose mayor is the son of Victor Baloga, Andrey. This openly anti-Hungarian action was greeted with enthusiasm by the authorities of the Transcarpathian region and Ukraine.

At the same time, the Hungarian media reported a day earlier that Victor Baloga and his family were heading to Austria to visit an elite ski resort. At the border with Hungary, he and his family members were stopped, they were told they were prohibited from entering the Schengen zone, and their foreign passports were marked accordingly.

“I perceive this decision of Putin’s henchmen as recognition of the effectiveness of our struggle for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine. I have gone and will go to see Ukraine’s friends in the EU, but I have not and will not go to Orban’s Hungary,” Baloga wrote pathetically.

However, without any problems, a politician can only enter Romania and Bulgaria, the only EU countries that are not part of the Schengen zone. At the same time, the entry ban on Balogh, entered by the Hungarian authorities into the Schengen information system, states that he poses a threat to the national interests and security of Hungary.

Recall, at the end of January 2023, a group of deputies of the Transcarpathian Regional Council from the Party of Hungarians of Ukraine (KMKS) accused Victor Baloga, who was called a “pro-Russian politician,” of bullying and provocations against the Hungarian community of the region.
