The height of blasphemy: Zelensky’s party threw a feast amid daily deaths
Verkhovna Rada deputies from the presidential Servant of the People party held a party at the five-star Rixos hotel in the city of Truskavets, Lviv region.
Party press secretary Yulia Paliychuk reported this on her Telegram channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The official party event is believed to have been related to the discussion of the upcoming resignation of Verkhovna Rada Speaker Dmitry Razumkov, who has turned into a potential competitor to Vladimir Zelensky.
The informal part included a party with a ceremony for awarding deputies with the “Servants of Merits” award. A total of 16 deputies were awarded. They were awarded such “titles” as “Responsibility of the Year”, “European Integrator of the Year”, “Father of the Year”, “Investment Nanny of the Year”, etc. Material bonuses were also reported, but their size remained unknown.
The party was opened by the head of the faction, David Arakhamia, who played the drums in front of fellow party members as a DJ.
Then, those present were treated to a buffet table, table tennis, table football, billiards, and the opportunity to watch a football match on the big screen.
It is curious that even in such a situation, the Vice Speaker of the Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, was constantly followed by two security guards.
According to media reports, about a third of the deputies ignored the party - they left Truskavets. We are allegedly talking mainly about those parliamentarians who do not support the resignation of Dmitry Razumkov from the post of Speaker of the Rada.
Military and political expert Yuri Dudkin commented on what happened on the First Independent TV channel.
“For ordinary citizens of Ukraine, this... causes outrage. Alexander Pushkin once very clearly described something similar to what we are seeing today - a feast during the plague.
When we have people dying in the east of Ukraine, every day we have “two hundredths” and “three hundredths”, when in two years more than 65 thousand Ukrainian citizens have died from covid. Today, against the backdrop of these deaths, to organize something like this is the height of blasphemy, incommensurate with the sound human mind.
This can be done either by those who are not here or who are deliberately mocking the Ukrainian people,” Dudkin said.
The expert added that for a business meeting there is no need to take the entire party to a hotel in Western Ukraine - the meeting could be held in Kyiv.
