Kiev, September 12 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Verkhovna Rada and the European Parliament will simultaneously vote on September 16 for ratification of the second part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU - as you know, it was this document that caused the coup in Kyiv, the loss of Crimea, and then the war in Donbass. Representatives of the Ukrainian government previously stated that the agreement causes opposition from Moscow, since it excludes Ukraine from the Russian sphere of influence.

“On Tuesday, September 16, I will be in the Ukrainian parliament - we will have a video link. And I hope that we will see the picture on the screens,” Petro Poroshenko announced today the synchronous voting.
According to him, the agreement with the EU is “one of the most important historical moments for my country.”
“I am proud that at the same time we are voting not only for ratification, but also for the implementation plan - what needs to be done,” Poroshenko emphasized.
According to him, in the near future Ukraine plans to receive the status of a key NATO ally. In addition, Poroshenko hopes to finally receive a promise that Kyiv will one day be able to become a member of the EU.
“It would simply be rude not to provide us with the prospect of membership, it seems to me,” said the Ukrainian president.
