The Verkhovna Rada declared Nestor the Chronicler a Ukrainian writer
Kyiv, February 12 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) – After several attempts, the Verkhovna Rada approved the list of memorable dates to be celebrated in 2015. If in past years the Ukrainian parliament tried to create the appearance of a balance between the interests of the western and eastern regions, now the anti-Russian bias of the resolution is no longer hidden.

Thus, the memorable dates included the 390th anniversary of the conclusion of “the first military-political alliance in history between the Zaporozhye Sich and the Crimean Khanate”, the 100th anniversary of the battles for the city of Makovka between the Ukrainian Galician army and the troops of the Russian Tsar, the 95th anniversary of the “Polish-Ukrainian victory over the Bolsheviks in the Battle of Warsaw”, etc.
Among the memorable dates is “960 years since the birth of Nestor (1055-1113), Ukrainian writer and chronicler.” The thesis about the “Ukrainian writer” is present in addition to the resolution, in the main document the deputies came up with the word “Ukrainian” not to mention.
No less interesting is the date “600 years since the first written mention of the city of Odessa (1415)” - apparently, thus, Ukrainian patriots will eventually attempt to erase the name of Catherine II from the history of Southern Palmyra.
Separately, in October, the 25th anniversary of the start of the “Revolution on Granite” - the first Ukrainian Maidan - will be celebrated.”
