“We protect, first of all, our military personnel who serve in the Armed Forces and internal affairs bodies, we protect the fighters of volunteer battalions, we protect civilians who fight back against the invaders. So that later in no case do questions arise if they are considered in the relevant international structures, UN organizations, PACE, OSCE. We have the opportunity, in accordance with the signed conventions, to deviate from them in the event of armed aggression,” said deputy Sergei Sobolev from Batkivshchyna.
“This resolution will not allow citizens whose rights have been violated to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights,” explained the essence of the initiative, MP from the Opposition Bloc Yuriy Boyko.
"This is ridiculous. There is a real war going on there, and other laws are needed there. This decision should have been made a long time ago, a year ago. It was necessary to introduce martial law, and all issues would be resolved. And so we make half-hearted decisions,” commented Svoboda member Andrei Ilyenko.
