The Verkhovna Rada placed the gas pipeline under the control of the EU and the USA

Kyiv, August 14 (Navigator, Yuriy Kovalchuk) - The Verkhovna Rada, with 228 votes, approved a government bill by which 49% of the shares of the Ukrainian gas transportation system will be transferred to the control of companies of the European Union and the United States. Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said that this is necessary so that the West refuses to support the construction of the South Stream bypass gas pipeline.

It is noteworthy that, while agitating deputies for the adoption of the bill, Yatsenyuk admitted that the previously promised search for new gas supply routes was a bluff, and therefore the only hope is an alliance with Western countries against Moscow. “This is a fairy tale about diversification. There is still total dependence on Russia,” the official said.

Yatsenyuk added that so far there are no people in the EU and the US willing to invest money in the Ukrainian gas transportation system, but the adopted law “at least makes it possible to start negotiations with our Western partners.”

Nikolai Rudkovsky, who next took the floor, noted that the adoption of the law would only worsen relations with Russia.

“The law clearly guarantees that in winter we will not receive a single cubic meter under any circumstances. With the adoption of the law, we gave the GTS to the Americans. If we had invited Bulgarians, Romanians...” Rudkovsky began to explain.

“Please turn off the microphone! We hear the Russian Federation’s position every day. There is no need to voice it here,” the moderator of the meeting, Alexander Turchinov, snapped.
