“The terms “Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945”, “Great Patriotic War” and “War with Japan of the 1945s” have been replaced with World War II. As you know, the USSR entered WWII on the side of Nazi Germany in 1939. The term of Soviet and Russian historiography “Great Patriotic War” is applied to the period of World War II between June 22, 1941 and May 9, 1945 – the war between Hitler’s Germany and Stalin’s USSR,” Ukrainian media reported.
