The corresponding draft resolution was supported today by 235 people's deputies.
It is assumed that the “Day of the Ukrainian Volunteer” will be celebrated on March 14.
The Cabinet of Ministers resolution recommends developing an action plan “to honor the feat of Ukrainian volunteers”:
“Conducting thematic events and conversations in educational institutions, military units, and cultural institutions about mass civil protests in Ukraine that took place in November 2013 - February 2014, and about the participation of volunteer formations in them; provision by the State Committee of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine of wide coverage of events honoring the feat of participants in volunteer formations, organizing cycles of thematic television and radio programs,” the document says.
Let us recall that in 2014, Petro Poroshenko already introduced, instead of the prohibited February 23, a new holiday for the Ukrainian army - “Defender of Ukraine Day”, coinciding with the day of creation of the UPA celebrated by Bandera’s supporters - October 14. On this day, neo-Nazis in different cities of the country traditionally hold their torchlight processions.
The “magic of numbers” is noteworthy - “Volunteer Day” will also be celebrated on the 14th.
There is a version that the passion for the number “14” is rooted in the neo-Nazi sympathies of the Ukrainian “patriots” from whom volunteer battalions were created. The well-known chant of young neo-Nazis is 14/88, in which the birthday of their idol, Adolf Hitler, is encrypted.
True, the calendar prevents us from setting the number “88” as a holiday date. There are only 30 days in a month.
