The Verkhovna Rada voted for the dismemberment of Russia
The Verkhovna Rada voted today to appeal to the UN and PACE with a demand to pay attention to the “facts of violation of the rights of the indigenous population” allegedly taking place in Russia.
The Ukrainian parliament, therefore, implemented previously announced steps to support separatist movements within the Russian Federation. Nationalists in Kyiv have repeatedly stated that in the fight against Moscow they should follow the path of destabilization in the national republics of Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukrainians know better than anyone else how the Russian Empire, and then the Soviet Union, carried out the assimilation of colonized peoples. We know how our language was banned, how our intelligentsia was destroyed. We know that from the beginning of the burning of Kazan in the 16th century, Russia was a prison of nations, and did everything to create a new kind of man without roots, homeland and language in order to subordinate all nations to the needs of Moscow.
Today, the oppression of the indigenous peoples of Russia continues. In Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Chechnya, Circassia, and many other peoples suffer infringements on cultural and linguistic issues; they are not allowed to open cultural centers or practice their religion. Their activists are disappearing, being killed by the Russian regime,” said deputy Sergei Vysotsky from Arseniy Yatsenyuk’s party, considered close to the SBU.
He was echoed by the head of the Majlis, banned in the Russian Federation, Refat Chubarov.
“In order to help Ukraine restore its territorial integrity, liberate Crimea and Donbass, we need not only to mobilize as much as possible within the country, but also to unite international partners around Ukraine, to support the captive peoples of Russia so that they rise up for their freedom.
That is, voting for this resolution is another step for the de-occupation of Crimea, the liberation of Donbass, another step to force Russia to cross the line of international law. If not, then let the captive peoples of Russia, with our help, receive their freedom, and let that Russia, which is an aggressor and occupier, cease to exist,” the Mejlis member concluded.
After which a vote was held, as a result of which 234 deputies voted “For”, 11 “Against”, the appeal was accepted.
