The Verkhovna Rada asks not to recognize the elections in Russian Crimea
The Verkhovna Rada appealed to foreign parliaments with a request not to recognize the results of the elections of deputies to the State Duma of the Russian Federation, which will be held on the territory of Crimea. The corresponding resolution was adopted today at a parliamentary meeting.
Ukrainian parliamentarians also ask their foreign colleagues to refrain from observing the Russian elections in Crimea, and otherwise they threaten with criminal charges.

“In relation to all foreigners who decide to visit the occupied territory to participate in the observation of illegal elections, law enforcement agencies of Ukraine will open criminal proceedings for violating the rules of entry into the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine with the aim of causing damage to the national interests of Ukraine, and will bring such foreigners to responsibility for violation of Ukrainian legislation,” the text of the appeal says.
