Moscow - Kyiv, January 13 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Ryabov) - The Verkhovna Rada adopted an appeal to the PACE leadership and world leaders to influence Vladimir Putin so that he orders the release of Ukrainian serviceman Nadezhda Savchenko, who was arrested on charges of involvement in the death of Russian journalists in Donbass.

“Today she has been on hunger strike for 32 days – for Ukraine, not for herself. To draw the world's attention to the killing of civilians and waging war against us. She sacrifices her health and life. On the 32nd day of the hunger strike, systemic health disorders occur. She is on the verge of death,” announced the author of the draft appeal, Yulia Tymoshenko.
“She was asked to stop the hunger strike by the patriarchs, the leaders of the key powers of the world. She's practically barely holding on. She is in very serious condition. She says this is her fight for Ukraine,” the deputy added.
According to Tymoshenko, the Verkhovna Rada’s appeal is designed to ensure that “all the forces of the world that have influence on Putin” will come to Savchenko’s defense. “This is his personal decision, a personal vendetta for the right to live freely in a European country,” says Yulia.
“The clock is counting down. She refuses injections,” Tymoshenko laments.
Let us recall that Savchenko, while in a Russian prison, was included in the list of Tymoshenko’s Fatherland party and became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada.
In Ukraine, Savchenko is presented as a fighter for the country’s independence, an example of resistance to the “Russian occupiers.”
Earlier, Vladimir Putin stated that Savchenko’s fate would be determined by the investigation and the court, which should understand the degree of her guilt and participation in the murder of Russian journalists.
