The initiator of the innovation, deputy Victoria Syumar, complained that “today even in Lviv you can find books with a double-headed eagle on the cover.”
According to her, the new law provides for the creation of an “expert commission” under the Ministry of Culture, whose members “will analyze all circulations of printed materials that come from the aggressor country.”
“As our experience related to the television market shows, this greatly stimulates Ukrainian production,” Syumar clarified.
“The law prohibits polluting our book market with crap brought from Russia. The law is written sensibly - it protects both the manufacturer and our Ukrainian dignity,” ex-Aidar militant Nadezhda Savchenko supported the initiative, taking the floor.
