The Verkhovna Rada has turned green
The vote on the inauguration date showed that the Ukrainian parliament is planning to create a coalition supporting the newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky.
Political scientist Alexey Yakubin stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“These 300 votes that we saw in the Rada may mean that hidden, “under the ice,” some kind of “greening” is happening. It seems that there are attempts to create some kind of new association, perhaps, even if very situational, a transit “green” coalition. Something is going on there. On the one hand, there is a demand in society to reboot the Rada, on the other hand, some deputies are trying to cling to seats in order to extend their stay in the Rada by at least a few months. This is a very interesting vote in this context,” Yakubin said.
As PolitNavigator reported, the Verkhovna Rada voted on the date of the inauguration of the elected President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, scheduling the ceremony for May 20.
