The top of the Majlis, banned in the Russian Federation, although they swore allegiance to Petro Poroshenko, are well aware of the prospect of the incumbent Ukrainian president losing, and therefore Mustafa Dzhemilev’s wards are preparing another betrayal, trying to interest the favorite of the race, Vladimir Zelensky.

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Zhuravko writes about this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the politician, the impending betrayal is evidenced by a letter from the “Turkish Sultan” - Dzhemilev to presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky.

Formally, Dzhemilev’s goal is to find out Zelensky’s position on Crimea.

However, in fact, Zhuravko believes, this is the first attempt to build bridges and hint about readiness to work under Zelensky on the part of the Mejlis members.

According to the former parliamentarian, Dzhemilev wrote his “five questions” to Zeleny for a reason and even received answers to them.

“At one time, these same troublemakers failed to intrigue Petro Poroshenko into so-called “large-scale support” for the Crimean Tatars. Five years have passed, and there has been nothing but vile, criminal provocations. Just as Poroshenko did nothing for the Tatars, so the Tatars did not become useful to Poroshenko, as clearly evidenced by the voting results in the first round of the current presidential elections.

But even without grimacing from obvious embarrassment, swindlers from the “Tatar people” today are already building bridges to the next “partner” in interaction – Zelensky,” Zhuravko wrote.

Previously Poroshenko promised to the Majlis members provide national-territorial autonomy in Crimea. However, he later changed his rhetoric, declaring “cultural autonomy”, which caused confusion in the Majlis environment. But Poroshenko never fulfilled this promise. Ultimately, there is no autonomy for supporters of a group banned in the Russian Federation they won't receive it.
