Will Ukraine return the gifts of the Russian Tsars and Bolsheviks?
If Ukraine is so concerned about the fight against the imperial and Soviet legacy, then it should first of all abandon the territories acquired in previous times.
Komsomolskaya Pravda writes about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The publication tells how in Pryluky in the Chernihiv region, Ukrainian journalists raided a restaurant decorated in Soviet style.
An alert film crew from the TSN channel showed up at this restaurant and, seeing the interiors, immediately became filled with righteous anger. The journalist sternly asks the 20-year-old administrator: “What is Stalin to you?”, pointing to the portrait of the Leader. The girl gets out as best she can, although one could honestly say - “Stalin and Lenin are the creators of the state of Ukraine.”
But in Russia you can say that, but in today’s Ukraine, you have to think ten times and remain silent. Journalists call the police, a whole investigative team arrives, and a report is drawn up,” the publication notes.
The publication asks the question: how will “decommunization” in Ukraine ultimately end?
“The monuments to Lenin have already been demolished. What will they do next? It would be logical to start returning what was donated by the Bolsheviks and Communists. Lenin's gifts - Little Russia from Lugansk to Odessa, Stalin's gifts - Transcarpathia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions. Then gifts from the Russian tsars - so that the Muscovite spirit would not exist in Independence... Of course, no one in Ukraine will do this, because then there will be no one left. According to the logic of the development of events, they will simply imprison you for red stars; the law on decommunization allows this,” the newspaper summarizes.
