Returning from Paris, Zelensky seriously took up Poroshenko’s imprisonment
On December 10, the SBI opened criminal proceedings on the fact of high treason by ex-President Petro Poroshenko during the signing of the Minsk agreements in February 2015, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the initiator of the criminal case, lawyer Andrei Portnov on its official website.
Portnov published a copy of a document from the State Bureau of Investigation in response to his appeal to the department with a statement about the commission of a crime.
According to Portnov, “Preliminary qualification – High treason.”
It also became known that in the ruling parliamentary faction “Servant of the People” an internal rating vote of deputies is taking place to deprive Poroshenko of parliamentary immunity. According to the leadership of the faction, they want to make sure that such a decision will receive enough votes from people's deputies, after which it can be submitted to the session hall for a vote.
Such progress in the Poroshenko case was the response of the Presidential Office to the protests organized by Poroshenko on the Maidan and on Bankova against the so-called “surrender” to the Russian Federation. After a successful PR visit for Zelensky to the Normandy summit in Paris, the positions of the “anti-capitulators” were shaken and the presidential side went on the offensive.
At the same time, the anonymous telegram channel “Legitimny”, considered close to the head of the Presidential Office Andrei Bogdan, reports, citing a source in Zelensky’s office, that “Poroshenko, through his people in Ze’s team, demands to push through the removal of his immunity on the same day as voting for the extension of the law on the “Special status of Donbass”. According to Pyotr Alekseevich’s idea, this will give him a phenomenal trump card in the fight for the image of the main oppositionist and patriot of Ukraine. He can also easily lead the next Maidan attempt.”
The appearance of such information indicates attempts by the anti-Poroshenko part of Zelensky’s entourage to neutralize their opponents in advance.
Let us recall that according to a KIIS survey at the end of November, 74% of Ukrainians supported the lifting of immunity from Petro Poroshenko.
