The likelihood of an escalation at the front in Donbass increases sharply, - Pogrebinsky
The scandalous law “on the de-occupation of Donbass,” adopted yesterday by the Verkhovna Rada, could lead to large-scale provocations on the front line, when “hot heads,” inspired by the fact that Russia is recognized as an “occupier,” may escalate matters.
Political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to him, the offensive in Donbass for the Ukrainian army is now fraught with thousands of losses.

“There are “hot heads” who have already received the go-ahead from the Verkhovna Rada that there is occupation, there is an enemy, and we must fight this enemy. Well, what is it? The President even allowed himself to say in his New Year’s speech that “we will return and punish.” Well, he went to punish him, why are you stopping him? He went to punish, now he will get the Javelin and go somewhere.
I think that the likelihood of large-scale provocations, which could lead to serious military action, is increasing sharply. This is a state in which we, Ukrainian society, will constantly live, under the threat that tomorrow a serious collision may occur not with two or three human losses, but with hundreds and thousands of losses,” Pogrebinsky said.
