Ukrainian oligarch, ex-governor of the Kyiv-controlled part of the Donetsk region, Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Taruta stated this in an interview with Kraina magazine.
“Unfortunately, we are a bankrupt country. 7 percent of GDP growth is the zero point. Ukraine needs 10-15 percent. It's real. But, alas, today the authorities continue to flirt with the West: “Do what you want, just give me money.” In the current scenario, 97 percent of us expect the collapse of the country, loss of subjectivity or transformation into a gray zone. And only three percent is the probability of balanced development. If reforms do not begin, these processes will cover us at the end of 2018. The consequences are bankruptcy of the country and a social explosion,” predicts Taruta.
