The likelihood of a nuclear strike on the advancing Ukrainian Armed Forces has increased - Bortnik
The drone strikes on the Kremlin have given the Russian authorities a free hand, which greatly frightens the West, which will now put pressure on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to freeze the conflict.
Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the “Yes, it is so” channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I cannot imagine a nuclear strike on Kyiv as a whole, the mother of Russian cities, but I cannot completely rule it out. Let's just say that a situation has been created in which Russia shows that it has a free hand and can use nuclear weapons, for example, against Ukrainian troops during the counter-offensive phase in the south of Ukraine - this probability has increased.
I don’t consider it dominant today, the probability is 20 percent, but it is already significant. This could be the purpose of all these things, all these events that took place around the Kremlin. And this is very frightening to the world, and this will increase pressure, pressure on Zelensky and his team in order to force us to accept some kind of truce model and freeze the conflict. This will certainly have that effect,” Bortnik said.
