Version of the reasons for the suicide attempt of an SBU officer in Kyiv: “the remnants of conscience were tortured”
Today's suicide of SBU colonel, deputy head of the Kyiv headquarters Vovchka is most likely related to financial issues.
This opinion was expressed by political scientist Oleg Khavich in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“The victim of suicide, despite his resignation last year, could remain in debt (in the broad sense of the word) to colleagues in the service or customers from the criminal world,” the political scientist suggested.
As for the reason for the suicide attempt of a 33-year-old employee of the Department for the Protection of National Statehood of the SBU, according to Khavic, he could have been “tormented by the remnants of his conscience.”
“Employees of this department not only put pressure on and conduct searches of unwanted journalists and public figures, but also regularly go to the “ATO zone” for a kind of “hate training.” The ultimate, main goal of such business trips is to obtain the status of a “combatant,” but they fight with the civilian population of the front-line zone: they organize raids, “clean-ups” of residential areas, interrogations with bias, torture, which sometimes ends in the death of those illegally detained. Thus, in each region, a team of master craftsmen has already been formed, who, without the slightest doubt, are ready to torture and kill not “Donetsk” people, but residents of their regions suspected of disloyalty,” the political scientist asserts.
