Believers of Montenegro support the metropolitan of the SOC who fell ill with COVID-19
Metropolitan Amfilohije of the Montenegrin and Primorsky SOC contracted a coronavirus infection and was taken to a hospital in the capital Podgorica.
Politicians, social activists, bloggers and ordinary believers opposed to the Djukanovic regime expressed massive support for their shepherd.
“In the previous days, the Metropolitan was in home isolation and under constant medical supervision,” the Montenegrin and Littoral Metropolis said in a statement. – Although his general health is stable (without any significant complications) today, and he feels well personally, a Covid test confirmed that the Bishop was infected with this virus, so he was taken to the Podgorica Clinical Clinical Center. There, due to more favorable treatment conditions, he will remain until he recovers.”
Potential Prime Minister Montenegro Zdravko Krivokapic called on citizens to pray for the health of the bishop, as he wrote on his Twitter:
“Let us increase our prayers for our Metropolitan Amfilohije, just as he always prayed for Montenegro. We also wish prayers and support to all those sick with COVID-19 and to our medical workers throughout Montenegro.”
The patriotic pro-Serbian community on Facebook “We know who we are” published the following entry:
“Our Deda was close to his people in both joy and sorrow. Now we are unconditionally with him, patience, sobriety and prayer. Let's stay sober and calm, and not respond to inappropriate comments (we are talking about Montenegrin nationalists, Djukanovic supporters and the schismatic CPC). And one more thing: our Grandfather will win this too, there is no doubt about it.”
