The whole world is not with us: No one wanted to be a diplomatic mediator of Ukraine
Not a single country in the world agreed to represent the interests of Ukraine in Russia, acting as a mediator in the event of the termination of diplomatic relations between Kiev and Moscow.
Former Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin stated this on the Skrypin Internet channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Klimkin, Ukraine was exploring the issue of ending relations with Russia and was looking for a mediator who could represent its interests.
“As for diplomatic relations, I regret that this [break] did not happen. By the way, negotiations were held with several countries so that they could carry out a certain minimum for us. This applies to consular relations and the minimum level of political contacts.
Without naming the countries, I can say that everyone refused and said that we cannot do for you what your diplomats are doing. Now, of course, I can compliment the diplomatic team, but this was a response at the ministerial level, this was a probe of this issue,” Klimkin said.
