Special forces veteran advised not to be curious while shooting
After yesterday's shooting at the FSB building It would be useful for Russian citizens to be reminded how to behave in such situations.
Alexey Filatov, vice-president of the Alpha association, told Izvestia about this.
“For a person who finds himself in an area where fire has been opened, it is best to bend down to the ground, find some kind of permanent structure and get out of the line of fire behind it. Then try to keep a low profile, do not take photographs, show curiosity, and, if possible, leave the area. The most important thing is not to show any heroism. But, of course, it’s easy to give advice. In practice, in an extreme situation, people behave differently. Often their legs are taken away, they either fall or run towards the fire. And you need to run not towards the shooter, not from him, but to the right and left, not along the line of fire,” the special forces veteran emphasized.
In turn, the head of the Moscow Police Union, Mikhail Pashkin, believes that the time chosen by the criminal was not accidental, and he himself, most likely, specifically waited until the end of the working day in order to attack the FSB officers leaving the FSB building. The expert notes that the attacker probably understood that he would die on the spot - this is similar to the behavior of a terrorist.
“Thanks to numerous cameras and a facial recognition system, they will most likely quickly establish where he got the weapon, where he came from, who could have directed it,” Pashkin is convinced.
