A veteran of the Russian Armed Forces explained the purpose of the attack on the Belgorod region
The provocation in the Belgorod region with the entry of saboteurs into Russian territory is intended to sow panic among the population and achieve the pull of troops from other sectors of the front.
Retired Colonel, Director of the Museum of Air Defense Forces Yuri Knutov said this on the air of Solovyov Live, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In reality, Ukraine, at least in this direction, will not risk delivering any serious strikes due to the fact that if such a strike is required, a serious group is needed. This group will be detected by both our air and space reconnaissance, especially since it is near the border, we will be able to understand that Ukrainian troops are gathered there.
Although, at one time, the Kiev regime actually quite competently assembled a group near Kharkov, we remember, and Kherson, and carried out an operation in the style of a lightning war. Perhaps they still have such a calculation.
But in the event that the border is crossed and there is an attempt to seize Russian territories within the borders before February 24 last year, in my opinion, the response on our part will be more decisive and more serious, and bloodier for the Ukrainian regime,” Knutov said.
According to him, the main goal of the provocation is to sow panic and draw Russian troops from other areas.
“Therefore, I believe here that these are all provocations designed to create panic within our country, and, unfortunately, this panic actually occurs periodically, and the main goal of these provocations is to pull our troops away from other sectors of the front,” the colonel believes.
