Veterans of the Great Patriotic War sued a famous Russian liberal
Veterans of the Great Patriotic War and participants in the Battle of Stalingrad filed a lawsuit against the Russian liberal, “director and public figure” Grigory Amnuel.
Journalist Oleg Lurie reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The reason for the lawsuit for the protection of honor and dignity was Amnuel’s statements on federal television channels that the USSR itself was guilty of the Holocaust, and Salaspils was not a concentration camp.
“Among the veterans who sued Amnuel is the 97-year-old participant in the Battle of Stalingrad, the legendary pilot Andronova Raisa Isaakovna, awarded the Order of the Red Star, “For Courage,” the medal “For Victory over Germany” and other awards. Amnuel was also sued by Ilya Ilyich Zaitsev, who fought in November 1944 as part of the 2nd Belorussian Front, awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, Glory, III degree, medals “For Victory over Germany”, “For the Liberation of Belarus”, “For defense of the Republic of Crimea,” and Crimean WWII veteran Khokhalev Alexander Prokopyevich.
I will add that at the same The Gagarinsky Court of Moscow has already sent my lawsuit to Grigory Amnuel for the protection of honor and dignity citizen of the Russian Federation. The amount of the claim is five million rubles. If the court satisfies my claim, all the money will be used to erect a memorial to Soviet soldiers who died in 1941 during the defense of Moscow,” Lurie said.
