Ukrainian veterans of the Great Patriotic War do not understand why Ukrainian deputies took up the task of condemning the communist regime, which brought Ukraine into the top ten countries of the planet.
This question, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports, was asked by the Chairman of the Kiev Organization of Veterans of Ukraine Nikolai Martynov during a press conference held in Kiev on the topic “May 9 without symbols of Victory: The Rada took away the right to memory from veterans.”

“The adopted law goes so far as to rename bridges and alleys if they are named after the secretary of the district committee,” noted Nikolai Martynov. – This is madness and inadequacy. But this totalitarian regime, which they want to condemn, defeated fascist Germany, liberated all of Europe, restored the national economy after the war and brought Ukraine into the top ten leading countries in the world. It is not clear why the regime, which did everything for the people, should be condemned for then. And our veterans are simply perplexed by this law.”
