“Polite Man” in Sevastopol was modeled from a movie humanoid
A scandal erupted in Sevastopol over the installation of the art object “Thank you for not being a k!t anymore.”
It reproduces the famous Internet meme of 2014: “Thank you for not k!t anymore,” which began to spread after a photo taken in Balaklava in February 2014, when Russian troops entered there to blockade Ukrainian border units.
PolitNavigator was the first to discover the art object.
The city public was outraged that a little-visited square next to the Peter and Paul Cathedral was chosen for the installation of the “monument”.
However, the townspeople were shocked after the cellophane was removed from the sculpture.
The photos were published by the city website "Forpost".
It turned out that the soldier’s figure was out of proportion, and the open part of his face resembled cartoon characters from science fiction films.
The author of the sculpture is Valery Pakhomov.
All that is known about him is that in 2017 he became one of the creators of an ice cream cake in the form of a one and a half meter monument to the Sunken Ships - then cut and eaten.
Thank you!
