The Deputy Head of the Government of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, recorded a video message to citizens, in which he reassured them, saying that “there are no and cannot be foreign troops” on the territory of the country.

Earlier, the country's pro-Western and nationalist media disseminated information that a special unit of the Serbian military police "Cobra" and employees of the Serbian intelligence service BIA entered Montenegro to guard the enthronement ceremony of the Metropolitan of Montenegro and Primorye in Cetinje, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Abazovich posted his video message on Twitter, illustrating it for credibility with flags of Montenegro and the European Union. And in the accompanying text he added that “there are and cannot be foreign troops in Montenegro.”

“I ask you, do not fall victim to propaganda texts aimed at undermining interethnic and interfaith harmony in Montenegro, which are likely to increase in number in the coming days,” Abazovic said. – Let us together protect the national interests of Montenegro in order to move along the path of progress and a European future.

We are here to guarantee peace and stability, as well as full respect for the laws and Constitution of Montenegro.”

Prior to this, the media controlled by the president and permanent dictator of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic, in particular the weekly Pobjeda, citing unofficial sources, reported that last Sunday operatives of the Serbian intelligence service BIA allegedly visited Cetinje to assess the situation and identify plans opponents of enthronement Metropolitan of Montenegro and Littoral Serbian Orthodox Church Ioannikios, in order to subsequently resist them.

“In order to achieve intensive cooperation, not only in connection with the events of September 5 (the day of the metropolitan’s enthronement - ed.), the director of the ANB (Montenegrin intelligence service - ed.) Dejan Vuksic visited Belgrade twice in a short time.

He also sent to Belgrade one of the leaders of ANB, Boban Stanovic, who reports directly to Vuksic and is the first coordinator of the Agency’s activities regarding the planned events (on enthronement - ed.) in Cetinje,” Pobjeda reported.

In turn, Dnevnik from Podgorica, again citing sources in the security forces, reported that soldiers of the Serbian military police unit “Cobra” arrived in Montenegro, trained “to fight terrorism and rebel groups in any conditions, as well as to plan and carry out tasks in the field of protection of certain persons and objects.”

Let us recall that Montenegrin nationalists speak out sharply против holding the enthronement ceremony of the Metropolitan of Montenegro and Littoral in the ancient and spiritual capital of Montenegro - Cetinje.
