Deputy Prime Minister of the Kuchma era: Ukraine cannot produce tanks without cooperation with the Russian Federation
Cooperation with the Russian Federation in the field of economics and defense provides the greatest benefit to Ukraine in light of its common Soviet past.
The former first deputy prime minister of the Ukrainian government during the time of Leonid Kuchma, Vladimir Seminozhenko, stated this on the YouTube channel “Union of Bloggers of Ukraine,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Indeed, there are economic benefits from this cooperation, and we have now become convinced of this over the past five years. And moreover, we can never move away from this cooperation, including gas, energy, and components for the defense industry. What did the scandal at Ukroboronprom demonstrate? That we are not even capable of producing Oplot tanks without Russian components, not a single one. Therefore, all this was known. The same applies to rocketry and other equipment, because this is not accidental: this general work has been carried out since the times of the Soviet Union, and by inertia it continues,” the retired politician noted.
