Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavel Rozenko announced this on air on the ZIK TV channel.
“Today, only 400 thousand Ukrainians are registered with employment services. In particular, people who are entitled to unemployment benefits come there. However, today, the real number of unemployed is about 1,9 million Ukrainians,” Rosenko said.
The Deputy Prime Minister clarified that there are still about 18 million Ukrainian workers on the Ukrainian labor market, however, only 11 million of them pay insurance premiums.
“As for the working population, in Ukraine people from 15 to 75 years old are considered as such. However, it is obvious that at 75 years old no one will. Moreover, in Ukraine people simply do not live to that age. However, there are approximately 18 million people actually working in the labor market. Moreover, only 11 million people pay insurance premiums. So we have the formula for the Ukrainian budget deficit,” he noted.
