The Ukrainian government has no right to attribute the lack of reforms and deteriorating living standards in the country to the war. Vice-President of the European Parliament Ulrike Lunacek stated this on air at Ukr Life.

According to her, the European Union is still waiting for reforms to finally begin to be carried out in the country.

“The European Parliament expects relevant and rapid reforms from Ukraine. The EU shares the feelings of Ukrainians about the war in Donbass, but still expects decisive action from the Ukrainian government, as well as quick and real reforms. Reforms in Ukraine must be carried out regardless of the military conflict in the East. The conflict in Donbass is not an excuse for the government not carrying out reforms in the country,” Lunacek said.
