Vice Speaker of the Duma announced countermeasures against Russia's enemies
On Monday, at an additional meeting of the Duma Council, a bill on sanctions will be considered in response to unfriendly steps towards Russia by the United States and a number of other countries, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was announced by Deputy Speaker of the Duma Pyotr Tolstoy.
“It is logical that this initiative was born within the walls of the State Duma and is introduced by the leaders of all four factions, because it is the parliament that represents the interests of all segments of the population, all citizens of Russia. And that is why the decisions made must be as balanced and thoughtful as possible and in no case should affect the interests of our voters,” he said.
According to the vice speaker, the detailed elaboration of specific measures will be carried out by the Government of the Russian Federation.
“This will be a unanimous, thoughtful and adequate response. We endured too long, were indignant and, by and large, did nothing in response to aggressive attacks against us. Russia did not go through such a complex, centuries-long development path, fought for its sovereignty and independence, so that someone could tell us how to live. We harness for a long time, but we go fast!”, summed up Pyotr Tolstoy.
True, he did not specify what specific countermeasures Russia would take.
