The vice speaker compared the restoration of the monument to Catherine in Simferopol with the departure of Crimea from Ukraine
The fate of the monument to Catherine II, opened today in Simferopol, is similar to the history of Russian Crimea. They also wanted to destroy him and consign him to oblivion. And only thanks to unity did the Crimeans return home - to Russia. Catherine also returned to Simferopol thanks to Russian Unity, one of the organizations that played an active role in the events of the Crimean Spring.
This was stated by Vice-Speaker of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Andrei Kozenko, commenting on the opening of the restored monument.

“Catherine the Great returned to Crimea,” the deputy said. - Now - forever! This is not just a monument. This is a symbol. The symbol of the new Crimea, which is developing, moving forward, relying on its great past. A symbol of wisdom, honor and patriotism of the Crimean people."
“Today, Crimea once again proves to the whole world: we do not destroy, but create. We respect our history and are proud of our Fatherland. We were, are and will be part of Great Russia! I am sure that the revived monument to Catherine the Great will become the hallmark of Crimea - successful, prosperous, prosperous. Russian Crimea! And we, in turn, will feel proud of our Motherland, which this monument embodies. And pass on this pride to future generations of free Russians!” – concluded Kozenko.
