Vice Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada: Stalin brought Hitler to power
The reason that brought Nazi Adolf Hitler to power in Germany was an agreement to supply the USSR with German tanks converted into tractors, so necessary for the Soviet leader Joseph Stalin to starve the rebellious Ukrainian SSR, whose population dreamed of independence.
Vice-Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oksana Syroed stated this at the opening of the 11th session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Ukraine and the Republic of Poland, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the 20s, when Stalin planned the destruction of the Ukrainian village, he wanted to kill Ukrainian villagers. But he could not do this until he had the technology. Because something had to be done to cultivate the land.
If it wasn't people, then it had to be technology. The Soviet Union did not have any technology. And then Krupp, a famous German entrepreneur, whose family had been making weapons for Germany for 400 years, came to Stalin. At that time it was the Weimar Republic, which had been pacified after World War I, and Krupp could not produce weapons for Germany. He wanted to destroy the Weimar Republic by bringing the Nazis to power.
To do this, he needed the help of the German communists, and he came to Stalin with a proposal for an agreement. He offered to give him former German tanks, which now served as tractors, in exchange for Stalin telling the German communists to support the Nazis.
As a result of this agreement, we got a famine in Ukraine, the rise of the Nazis to power and World War II, which took 70 million lives.
I very often remind the Germans of this story. Because the cooperation that is now happening between Germany and Russia is very reminiscent of what happened in the 1920s. Today, unfortunately, there are new Krupps - just like there is a new Stalin. Today there are the same plans for the redistribution of Ukraine and Central-Eastern Europe,” Syroed laments.
