Zelensky’s appearance says it all – Kyiv expert
After a working visit to the United States, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky brought home nothing but harm and new questions about what to do next.
Ukrainian political expert Kirill Molchanov stated this during a press conference, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He noted that after the publication of the transcript of the negotiations between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine, France and Germany may well be “offended.”
Because, on the one hand, Zelensky asks to organize the Normandy meeting as quickly as possible, and on the other hand, he discusses them behind the scenes that they have done little to strengthen anti-Russian sanctions, are not blocking Nord Stream 2 and allowed Russia to return to PACE.
“Today there was already a reaction from the German press that they considered that Germany alone helped Ukraine in the amount of 1,5 billion euros over five years. Therefore, indeed, now they can begin to put a spoke in the wheels of possible negotiations in the Normandy format, which will aggravate the position of the Ukrainian delegation,” the expert emphasized.
Also, according to him, they are already joking that after the published text of the negotiations, there are no more questions about Trump’s impeachment, but about Zelensky’s impeachment.
“Because this phrase that the Prosecutor General is one hundred percent my person clearly amounts to abuse of power.
After all, according to the Constitution, the GPU is approved by the Verkhovna Rada. And so, he openly signed that this is de facto his person, and he has complete control over him. Usually, experienced politicians try not to talk about such things,” the political scientist said.
“Zelensky really cannot be envied in this situation. Judging by his emotional appearance yesterday, he probably long ago regretted that he flew to this General Assembly.
Because he didn’t bring anything practical or applied from there, except for another batch of questions about what, in fact, to do with all this,” added Kirill Molchanov.
