The seasoned investigator was taken aback by Efremov’s impudence
Russian actor Mikhail Efremov, who caused a fatal accident while drunk, refused to admit his guilt.

According to the newspaper's sources, during the last interrogation during the presentation of official charges, Efremov said that he did not admit guilt in the accident.
The investigator, the publication’s interlocutors say, “at first didn’t even believe it and asked the accused if he understood him correctly.” Only after receiving an affirmative answer from the actor’s lawyer, Elman Pashayev, did the Ministry of Internal Affairs officer make a corresponding entry in the protocol.
At the same time, the lawyer for the crime suspect explained that his client does not deny that he was a participant in the accident.
“However, the change in his position is due to two circumstances: firstly, Mr. Efremov does not remember in detail the events that occurred on June 8, “because he was very drunk,” and secondly, during the investigation, the lawyer himself acquired evidence in favor of his client. Which ones exactly, Mr. Pashayev, of course, did not say. Be that as it may, the change in Mikhail Efremov’s position gives his defense additional opportunities for maneuver during the trial,” the publication outlines the defense’s arguments.
In turn, lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky, representing the interests of the injured party, was skeptical about the change in the actor’s position, noting that there was “no logic” in it, and also recalled that one of the examinations showed that there were Sweat and epithelial cells belonging to Efremov were found, which “unambiguously indicates who was driving the car.”
As PolitNavigator reported, on the evening of June 8, in the center of Moscow, Efremov lost control of an SUV, flew into the oncoming lane and crashed into a Lada van, driven by the courier of the Delikateska.ru company, Sergei Zakharov, who later died in the hospital. The examination showed that Efremov was in a state of severe intoxication. Tests also showed the presence of cocaine and marijuana in his blood.
