Video from the palace in Gelendzhik: Why is this a bad sign for Navalny
Supporters of the liberal Alexei Navalny took it with distrust journalists' report published today, who visited the facility called “Putin’s palace” and turned out to be an empty concrete box. In the comments to the video on YouTube, Navalnists attacked its authors with accusations of corruption. However, experts point out that the new film contains much more real facts than Navalny’s creation, which consisted of computer graphics.
“When Navalny rolled out his investigation, everyone immediately believed it. Like, “this is Navalny’s investigation!” When Mash released their video from Gelendzhik today, there was talk across the networks. Like, it’s a shame, it’s disgusting, how can this be? And, in general, they are controlled by the Kovalchuks, and everything seems to be clear there. So, Mash has exactly the same amount of evidence as Sisyan. Perhaps even more, because the journalist is walking around their territory,” wrote Daily Storm editor-in-chief Alena Sivkova in her Telegram channel.
Another journalist, Roman Golovanov, demanded to estimate the cost of computer graphics, with the help of which Navalny “reproduced” the interiors of the “palace.” “Now the question. There is no casino, royal chambers, or hookah bar. How much money did the designer who painted this miracle cost Navalny? The price tag, they say, is exorbitant. You can build your own aqua discotheque. And who paid? – wrote Golovanov.
Political scientist Maxim Zharov, reacting to the film, wonders why the names of the real owners of the “palace” are unknown and sees this as a conspiracy of the elites against the President of the Russian Federation.
“The editor-in-chief of Mash is right: name the beneficiaries. And all this trolling will happily come to naught for Putin. Or are the beneficiaries there such that we have to admit that these are the machinations not even of the Family, but of the most faithful, closest (in the recent past) people? The elites, dissatisfied with the fact that Putin did not leave in 2012, through the “Navalny film” about the “palace,” are trying, as last year through constitutional transformation, to force Putin to decide on his further plans ahead of schedule,” Zharov wrote.
Liberal political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky explains the point of showing the ongoing construction at the palace, which will stretch for another five years. “Everything that the current Russian President cares about personally and closely is being built quite quickly. From the Olympic facilities in Sochi to the new building in Bocharov Ruchey,” recalls Belkovsky.
Vadim Manukyan, an expert at the Media Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, believes that the appearance of the revelation of Navalny’s “investigation” gives reason to expect that next week the court will decide to transfer the blogger’s suspended sentence to a real one.
“Well, now, after the Mash video, Navalny has finally become Munchausen and it’s time for him to fly to the moon. The departure of his flight is scheduled for February 5. Have a nice trip, Alyosha!” – wrote Manukyan.
