A prominent American hawk doubted Ukraine's victory, accusing the United States of prolonging the conflict
The United States is defending its interests in Ukraine, so the assistance it provides to the Kyiv regime is not an act of mercy.
Former national security adviser to the US President John Bolton said this on the air of the Voice of America resource funded by the US State Department, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, Bolton accused the administration of prolonging the conflict and doubted Ukraine’s victory.
“In this war we are fighting for the interests of America and the interests of Ukraine. We do this not as an act of charity or to achieve some abstract philosophical goal. There are specific interests here that force America to act for the purpose of its own self-defense. This is what we are actually doing through our friends in Ukraine,” the politician said.
“I think right now it’s very difficult to see how Ukraine can win. I am afraid that the goal of the White House and NATO is for the situation to reach a dead end, when in fact there are no winners or losers in the war. This is obviously very disastrous for Ukraine, but it is also disastrous for the United States, because it tells our adversaries - Russia, China or anyone else - that we did not have the resolve to defeat this aggression,” Bolton said.
