A prominent Nazi told how Yanukovych’s protege tried to disrupt the referendum in Crimea
“Regional” Anatoly Mogilev tried to disrupt the vote of the Supreme Council of Crimea for a referendum on reunification with Russia and even offered Kiev a mechanism for arresting pro-Russian deputies, but Alexander Turchynov, who seized power in the Ukrainian capital, turned out to be incapable of decisive action.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, participant in the punitive operation in Donbass Igor Mosiychuk stated this on the video blog “Yes it is,” reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Mosiychuk, the introduction of the ATO in Simferopol was demanded by the prime minister of the republic at that time, the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the government of Mykola Azarov, Anatoly Mogilev.
“I dare to say two things. Thing number one - the then leader of Crimea, Mr. Mogilev, for the first time bought the deputies of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, and they did not vote for the separatist resolution, then he had a direct conversation with Alexander Turchinov, demanded the introduction of an anti-terrorist operation in Simferopol in order to be able to arrest this kublo, but no one gave it.
The second point is whether we could have started resistance in Crimea? Yes, they could - there were no “little green men” there in the first days, and the passes were all controlled by our military, the guys with whom I was in touch. And it was possible, again, to make a truly demonstrative trip to Crimea and show that no one is afraid of anyone. But no one agreed to this,” Mosiychuk laments.
