Victoria Syumar creates a Ukrainian analogue of Russia Today
Moscow - Kyiv, May 21 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is creating a foreign television channel. Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Victoria Syumar announced this today on her Facebook page. She denies the connection of this initiative with the success of Russia Today, however, Kyiv is inspired by this example, experts say.

“Ukraine needs foreign broadcasting in English and Russian in order to convey the Ukrainian position,” the RBC post quotes her. The Ukrainian TV channel will be state-owned and will work for the CIS countries, Europe and the USA. According to her, the channel will “promote the values of the new Ukraine.” Syumar is sure: the country is not “post-Soviet” and not “authoritarian Russia”, but “wants a successful social transformation.”
According to her, they will not “copy the Russian propaganda machine” - it is “ineffective” and “expensive.” Syumar did not specify what this meant. In the entry below, she mentions the Russian TV channel Russia Today, accusing it of lying and creating staged videos.
Nevertheless, experts say, Kyiv is haunted by the success of RT in the media markets of Europe and the United States, where the channel has significantly expanded its audience by broadcasting an alternative point of view on the Ukrainian crisis.
