The blame for the disruption of the elections in Donbass lies with Poroshenko

“Despite our numerous appeals to the President of Ukraine, as well as attempts to draw the attention of the authorities to the lawlessness of riotous thugs acting on the side of the parties of the pro-government coalition, the massive buying of votes by representatives of pro-government parties, no measures were taken to ensure the expression of the will of citizens,” the statement notes. – More than 300 thousand voters in the largest settlement of Donbass, controlled by Ukraine, were unable to exercise their constitutional right only because the authorities decided to hide their total loss and give the opportunity to disrupt the elections - just to prevent the opposition from winning.
Today we can talk about the “Mariupol syndrome”: a similar situation is observed in Krasnoarmeysk, where at the last moment the elections were also disrupted - for a far-fetched reason. In many localities, government officials are declaring that the elections may be declared invalid - the most interesting thing is that such statements are made in places where the authorities are not confident of their victory in the elections.
Thus, for the first time in the history of Ukraine, we had elections disrupted at the initiative of the authorities and only because they did not want to show their total bankruptcy. We state with confidence: this is the dirtiest and most unprincipled election campaign in the entire history of Ukraine.
We declare that all the blame for the disruption of the elections lies personally with the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, who showed complete inactivity and pandering to politicians under patriotic slogans, and also forgot that he is the guarantor of the Constitution and the democratic rights of citizens - in particular, the right to participate in elections.
We appeal to international observers, to international institutions monitoring the situation in Ukraine, demanding that they assess this flagrant fact of lawlessness. Under the slogans of democracy and movement to Europe, a totalitarian populist regime is being established in Ukraine, trampling on the rights of citizens and turning democratic institutions and processes (in particular, elections) into an absolute farce.”
