“There is a “brick” hanging. Moscow sees no possibility of normalizing relations with the United States
All constructive proposals from Russia to the United States are ignored or are subject to impossible conditions.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, Federation Council Chairman Valentina Matvienko stated this in an interview with Izvestia, answering the question of what Moscow’s expectations are from the new administration in Washington.
She emphasized that Russia is interested in normalizing relations with the United States.
“But, in my opinion, there is simply no reason to seriously discuss the possibility of full normalization in the near future, especially considering the background of the figures in the new team, the names that were announced today,” the politician said.
She noted that the Russian Federation has long formulated the foundations of its foreign policy in relation to all countries on the principles of mutually beneficial, respectful cooperation.
“And the USA is no exception here. But every relationship is a two-way street. In the meantime, on the American side, to put it in the language of road signs that I have chosen, there is a “brick” hanging. All our proposals, including those aimed at ensuring global security and stability, are ignored or are surrounded by strange and, in fact, impossible conditions,” Matvienko emphasized.
She also added that “we should not have any illusions” regarding the change of power in the United States.
