Biden's visit to Kyiv confirmed the US readiness to "dump" Poroshenko
During his visit to Kyiv, US Vice President Joe Biden never mentioned that America views Ukraine as a strategic partner. Ukrainian political scientist Sergei Tolstov drew attention to this fact.
In his opinion, such a detail indicates the readiness of the US establishment to give Ukraine up for exchange during negotiations with Russia.

“It is unlikely that Trump will consider that there are any serious obligations regarding Ukraine. Let's look at Biden's visit, who, despite President Poroshenko's insistent reminder that Ukraine and the United States are strategic partners, never once remembered the existence of a strategic partnership between Ukraine and the United States.
Moreover, not a word was said even about the partnership program between the Pentagon and the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, which was signed last September.
As far as I know, there is no direct dialogue between the administration of the President of Ukraine and the Trump team today. Direct contacts most likely do not occur.
Therefore, if Russia is ready to make a set of concessions necessary for the new administration, it is possible that the zone of (its) responsibility within the CIS will be recognized to one degree or another,” says Tolstov.
