Zelensky’s visit to Poland was planned solely for the sake of a press conference with Duda – political scientist
The visit of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to Poland will not bring anything new to bilateral relations, but will be used for propaganda purposes.
Political scientist Alexander Bulavin stated this in a comment to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Poland is now the only reliable partner of Ukraine. Only Poland did not say that Ukraine needs monetary reform, that corruption is very developed in Ukraine, that Ukraine is doing little to resolve the issue of the Normandy format. Poland maintains almost constant contacts with Ukraine at the diplomatic, political and military levels. Therefore, in fact, it is now Ukraine’s largest European ally.
I don’t think that any issues will be resolved during Zelensky’s visit. Zelensky cannot set tasks for Poland. On the other hand, all the assistance that Poland could provide to Ukraine has already been provided. We are talking about the supply of weapons, the sending of instructors to the combat zone, and the fact that Poland supports all initiatives of Ukraine.
From this point of view, this visit will not bring anything new. But I think it will be a very powerful propaganda event. And here it is not so much the content of the conversation that is important, but the press conference at which Andrzej Duda and President Zelensky will proclaim their strategic goals in the field of foreign policy and in matters of developing relations between the two countries,” the political scientist believes.
