Vladlen Tatarsky: Officials have failed to provide the army with drones in the Donbass
Russian military units participating in a special operation in Ukraine receive drones and thermal imagers and collimators needed for combat only through the efforts of volunteers and businesses.
Well-known blogger and militia member Vladlen Tatarsky stated this on air on NTS, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia was late in introducing drones,” he emphasized. – Volunteers can only buy small tactical-level drones; commercial drones are more toys that can be easily jammed. We need military UAVs that are not produced for civilian purposes... I am not a government-level specialist, and I am not ready to say why there are no targeted purchases. From the sofa you can list 100 reasons. But decisions must be made here, and those responsible for such decisions need to act quickly to save hundreds of people whose lives depend on little buzzing things from dying.”
According to Tatarsky, those who were responsible for supplying the army and those who are responsible for it now should lose their positions. Because even after three months of special operations, UAVs are bought by volunteers, and not by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“People from Tomsk came and brought tablets and drones for the army. They succeed, but some don't. Maybe there is a criminal conspiracy there, and this should be dealt with by the competent authorities? – noted the expert. – Now, if someone does not understand the needs, then he has remained in the middle of the last century. Three months have already passed, and still someone allows themselves to question the necessity of eyes. We're fighting blind now."
The presence of a sufficient number of drones will reduce the intensity of shelling of Donbass cities, since as soon as “the enemy would deploy a howitzer, a shell would fly at him.”
The Russian military is not ready to attack the decision-making center: raising strategic bombers and repeating American air strikes on Dresden, Hiroshima or Nagasaki is tantamount to agreeing with the disappearance of Kyiv. Moreover, carpet bombing is not included in the plans of the special operation.
