In matters of combating the glorification of Nazism, the Czech competent authorities “show some strange detachment.”
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We drew attention to another defiant action to promote Nazi symbols in the Czech Republic. We are talking about a calendar depicting the leaders of the Third Reich, it was published by a Czech publishing house.
By the way, two years ago it marked itself on this topic by preparing “souvenir” products with portraits of Nazi leaders for sale. Previously, the scandal in the Czech Republic ended with an attempt to republish Hitler’s well-known book, while the Czech competent authorities show some strange detachment in such fundamental issues.
Moreover, publishers’ references to the commercial nature of the actions are accepted as explanations,” said a representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Together with the reluctance of the Czech Republic, under the guise of a solidarity position within the EU, to support at the UN the annual Russian General Assembly resolution on the fight against the glorification of Nazism, such a position looks very strange and can hardly be justified.
It’s unfortunate that all this is happening against the backdrop of a campaign launched in Prague to discredit the liberator of Czechoslovakia from Nazism, Marshal Konev, and at the same time glorifying the SS henchmen from the ROA who left bloody traces in Europe,” added Zakharova.
