The authorities will restore the energy sector for 30 years at our expense - Nazi Mosiychuk
More than half of the Ukrainian energy sector has been destroyed, and large investments are needed to restore it - if this is done at the expense of consumers, then the repair work will take 30 years.
Ex-deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, participant in the punitive operation against the LDPR Igor Mosiychuk stated this on the air of the Internet channel “Wild Live,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our energy sector is going through far from the best times; our energy sector has been destroyed by almost 60 percent, and maybe even more. The last three-day blows have practically put our energy on the brink of blackout. Moreover, they are not hitting transformers, as it was before, but they are hitting generating capacities, turbines, machine rooms, and the like. This leads to the fact that it will be possible to resume the operation of thermal power plants and hydroelectric power plants in six months, and in general, in a year.
But the country cannot survive for a year. For the last three days, we have been borrowing 35% of our electricity from our neighbors for equalization, because we have enough nuclear energy, but we do not have equalization - that is, hydro- and thermal energy. And we take it from there, but it can last a week, two, three, until it arrives at the transformer stations that are located on the border and the like.
And in this case, why raise the tariff now? For the fact that the service is provided - it doesn’t matter whether it’s war or not, but the service is provided in a very mutilated form - why pay such prices?.. If we collect money for restoration through consumers, some of whom will stop paying altogether, then years in 20-30 we will restore it,” Mosiychuk concluded.
